$200,000 Union Gas Pledge Jumpstarts 2014 CK United Way Campaign
'Pacesetter' donation to Support Local Agencies and Programs
CHATHAM, ON, Sept. 11, 2014 /CNW/ - The 2014 United Way of Chatham-Kent Campaign received a boost today, thanks to a $200,000 Pacesetter pledge from Union Gas.
Lynn Pouget, Union Gas customer relations coordinator and Brandon Stuart, Union Gas Station Engineer, delivered the pledge at a 2014 United Way campaign launch celebration held at the United Way of Chatham-Kent office on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham. Members of council, United Way board members, staff and volunteers, as well as this year's United Way campaign co-chairs Margery and Dean Muharrem, joined in the celebration.
"By supporting United Way, we're making a difference in this community and I hope our pledge inspires others to contribute to this essential cause," Pouget said. "Helping to create lasting positive change is a goal we all share, and by working together as a community, I know we can achieve it."
Union Gas' Pacesetter pledge represents a portion of the funds to be raised through the company's annual employee-led campaign, which last year contributed over $608,000 to United Way of Chatham-Kent.
"We want to thank Union Gas for their strong community leadership," said Margery. "Your continued support is truly an inspiration to the United Way family of agencies and Chatham-Kent as a whole. Together we can improve lives and build a stronger community."
