200,000 visitors expected at the Palais des congrès de Montréal for the 2013 Montréal International Auto Show
MONTREAL, Jan. 18, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Palais des congrès de Montréal is opening its doors wide open this January 18 to 27, 2013 for the more than 200,000 visitors expected at the 45th Montréal International Auto Show, the automotive event of the year for many Montréalers. The Palais has been hosting the Auto Show for 11 years.
A roomy interior
Marc Tremblay, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Palais, stated "the Palais passionately devotes several weeks a year to planning and hosting the Show and welcoming its visitors. The entire team is proud to contribute to the event's success by offering the Show nearly 350,000 square feet (32,516 sq. m.) of prime event space in the heart of the city." A total of 160 trailer trucks loaded with motor vehicles and equipment passed through the 15 loading docks and multiple entrances of the Palais over the nearly 9 days required to set up.
Mr. Tremblay added: "This year also marks the 100th anniversary of the Montréal Automobile Dealers Corporation, which organizes the Auto Show, and we salute their contribution to the excellence of the city's automotive industry."
A fully equipped hi-tech environment geared toward productivity
The Palais' versatile and modern facilities are ideal for this type of consumer show, featuring large booths whose installation can raise some interesting challenges. Over 600 hook-up points were required to suspend the hulking structures and décors. Also, this year the Auto Show will benefit from the Palais' new network infrastructure, which allows for up to 20,000 wireless internet connections, and features thoroughly new dynamic signage spearheaded by 88 55-inch giant screens and a video wall.
In addition, the Palais' teams and crews will be constantly and actively involved in satisfying the needs of exhibitors and visitors, who will be able to avail themselves of the many state-of-the-art technical and hi-tech services that render the Palais such a thoroughly productive environment. Other services essential to the smooth running of Auto Show also include lighting, electricity, audiovisual, sound, catering, access to the Galeries du Palais shopping promenade, etc.
The Palais, accessible and practical
Located in the downtown core, the Palais is easily accessible either by car, public transit or on foot, especially since it is directly linked to the Montréal metro system and the underground city. Auto Show visitors will also have the opportunity to discover the products and services available year round at the Galeries du Palais, where dozens of merchants are always conveniently open for Montréal tourists, convention-goers and workers in the downtown core and Old Montréal, rain, snow or shine!
