2010 Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario Annual Meeting
Featured Speakers include Education Minister, Lieutenant Governor, Grand Chief Beardy
TORONTO, Aug. 11 /CNW/ - More than 500 public elementary school teachers will attend the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario in Toronto from August 16-19. They will debate and set policies and directions, and hold elections for the position of First Vice-President and Vice-President (Female) to fill the second year of a two-year term.
The ETFO meeting will feature an address by Ontario Education Minister Leona Dombrowsky, who will speak to delegates on the eve of her government's implementation of the full-day Early Learning Program for Kindergarten. There will also be a special presentation by Lieutenant Governor David C. Onley and Grand Chief Stan Beardy of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation about the Lieutenant Governor's Aboriginal Summer Reading Camps, now reaching over 2,300 youth in 29 First Nations Communities.
The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario represents 76,000 elementary public school teachers and education workers across the province and is the largest teacher federation in Canada.
