2010 Executives' Gala - Business leaders brave the heat in Ferreira Cafe's
kitchen to raise funds for Haiti on April 1!

MONTREAL, March 29 /CNW Telbec/ - This Wednesday, on April 1, eight executive leaders will brave the heat in the kitchen at Ferreira Cafe during the 9th edition of the Executives' Gala. On the menu? Cocktails and an eight-course gastronomic feast to benefit the Center for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI). All proceeds will go directly to the Haiti Emergency campaign, which is helping to rebuild the country after it was devastated by an earthquake in January.

Substantial assistance

The loyal clientele of this Portuguese Peel Street institution and the top brass of the business world are joining together to ensure the success of this event that will provide much needed help to people in dire need. A man of heartfelt passion, Carlos Ferreira was thrilled to learn that all the tickets have already sold out, guaranteeing that a significant contribution will be made to a cause that is close to his heart.

Your chefs for the evening?

This year, Ferreira Cafe will have the honour of welcoming Premier Jean Charest, who has kindly accepted to prepare plates for guests during the evening. Helping him man the stoves will be Nathalie Bernier (KPMG), Stéphane Boisvert (Bell Canada), Martin Couture (Sanimax), Gerry J. Doutre (Yoplait), Jacques Parisien (Astral Media), Réjean Robitaille (Laurentian Bank), and Alexandre Taillefer (Stingray Digital). Ferreira Cafe's executive chef Marino Tavares and pastry chef Carlos Ribeiro will serve up succulent dishes throughout the evening, and sommelier Victor Dias will offer a fine selection of wines to complement the experience.

A generous year

Created and masterfully orchestrated for over nine years by Johanne Demers, the Executives' Gala is one of a host of charitable campaigns organized by Ferreira Cafe to benefit a variety of organizations. This year, through people's generosity and the many activities organized by this establishment, Carols Ferreira was able to donate $109,725 to the Saint-Justine UHC Foundation!
