TORONTO, May 31 /CNW/ - Deb Sweeney, Co-Chair of the Jack Webster Foundation, today launched the 2010 Jack Webster Awards to recognize excellence in BC print, broadcast and online journalism.
"For the 24th year, the Jack Webster Foundation presents its annual award program in the name of one of BC's best-known journalists," Sweeney said. "From 1947 to 1987, in print, open-line radio and TV, the late Jack Webster engaged a generation of British Columbians with his hard-hitting style of journalism."
Eligible BC print, broadcast and online journalists can enter to win a "Webster" statue in the following categories:
- News (one each for print, radio and TV), - Feature (one each for print, radio and TV), - Science, Technology, Health and Environment, - Legal Journalism, - Business, Industry and Economics, - Community, - Chinese Language, - Commentator of the Year City Mike Award, - Online Journalism
Submissions must have been aired or published between June 1, 2009 and May 31, 2010. Deadline for entry is June 30, 2010.

Jack Webster Awards Dinner
The awards will be presented the 2010 Jack Webster Awards Dinner on Monday, November 1st in Vancouver.
