TORONTO, March 10 /CNW/ - More than 600 Catholic teachers from across Ontario, all local representatives of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA), will attend their Annual General Meeting in Toronto this weekend, March 12, 13 and 14. OECTA represents the 43,000 men and women who teach from kindergarten through high school in Ontario's publicly funded English Catholic schools. OECTA is affiliated with the Ontario Teachers' Federation, the Canadian Teachers' Federation and Education International.
Throughout the three-day event, delegates will elect the 2010-11 Provincial Executive, debate education issues and establish by-laws and policies for the 2010-11 school year.
Reporters are welcome throughout the meeting, but require an OECTA media pass to attend. Please report to the staff at the Registration Desk in the foyer of the Metro Ballroom Westin Harbour Castle Hotel, Harbour Square, to present ID and pick up media passes.
