TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Brookfield Place presents the 2013 World Press Photo Exhibition in the Allen Lambert Galleria. This traveling exhibition, unique in its kind, is the result of a worldwide annual contest on press photography and is presented with the support of Brookfield Place and ArtsBrookfield. 2013 marks the 12th year for the exhibition in the Allen Lambert Galleria, the only Toronto location on the Canadian tour.
The prize winning pictures are presented in an exhibition visiting more than 100 cities in over 45 countries. The exhibition is comprised of 165+ photographs and is free and open to the public.

Each year, an independent international jury, consisting of nineteen members, judges the entries in nine different categories, submitted by photojournalists, agencies, newspapers and magazines from all corners of the world. This year's competition attracted 5,666 photographers from 124 countries. In total 101,254 images were entered in the contest.
World Press Photo organizes the leading international contest in visual journalism. The foundation is committed to supporting and advancing high standards in photojournalism and documentary storytelling worldwide. Its aim is to generate wide public interest in and appreciation for the work of photographers and other visual journalists, and for the free exchange of information. It measures 85 feet high, 45 feet wide and 360 feet long and is the main venue for World Press Photo 13.
