TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Toronto-based ad agency, Top Drawer Creative, is producing a unique 2014 calendar, benefitting CAN Fund. This limited edition fine art calendar features images of elite Canadian athletes photographed by the agency's CEO, Howard Chang, who is an internationally acclaimed photographer. The calendar will be for sale this fall, with all proceeds going directly to Canadian Athletes Now Fund (CAN Fund). The VIP launch party is Wednesday October 2, at the Jane Roos Gallery.
Chang, his team, and partners, have donated their time, skill, passion and funds. "My agency Top Drawer Creative, has been an avid supporter of CAN Fund since 2003," says Chang. "The idea of the calendar came through the desire to do something really meaningful for Canadian athletes at a scale that would make a difference, plus the chance to flex our agency's considerable creative muscles. Between the sale of the calendars and the photographs at the launch event we hope to raise $100,000 which support 15 athletes through CAN Fund."
Thirteen Canadian National Team athletes participated in creating the calendar, which celebrates what Chang calls the "Peak Moment" in sport - when all the training and talent coalesce into the purest expression of the athlete. "I'm really excited about the calendar," says Jane Roos, Founder and Executive Director of CAN Fund. "A lot of people have come to us in the past to do a calendar, but it's always been a very different concept. I love how Howard's vision was to show the motion of sport, show the athletes very artistically, and-it's beautiful! It would be a fantastic gift for companies to give out during the holidays because it gives twice: here's a beautiful calendar celebrating Canadian talent that also helps our athletes succeed on the world stage."
Some of the athletes featured in the calendar will be on hand at the Oct 2 event, a celebration that also includes a live auction of a one-of-a-kind, signed piece featuring all the athletes in the calendar. Also up for sale will be each image from the calendar reproduced as 16 X 20" high end archival prints, shadow-box framed and signed by the photographer. All proceeds from the event will go to the athletes thanks to the support of key sponsors.
For over 10 years CAN Fund has been helping great talent become world class and has supported hundreds of athletes who have proudly represented Canada at World Championships and Summer and Winter Games from Sydney to Sochi. CAN Fund is a leading catalyst in giving our athletes what they need to succeed on the world stage. Your donation provides our athletes with the opportunity to train and compete on a level playing field for Canada. Becoming world class requires great financial commitment and with consistent support from CAN Fund our athletes will achieve excellence. www.MyCANFund.com
TOPDRAWERCREATIVEINC. Was founded in 1996 on the principles of accountability and sustainability. Unlike traditional agencies, Top Drawer does not focus on an industry category or demographic. Instead the agency has honed its expertise by focusing on a consumer psychographic segment they have branded "AHAA"—active, healthy, affluent and aware. Top Drawer was conceived as a fully convergent services model that would serve as the agents of influence for brands that target this niche consumer. www.topdrawercreative.com
