2015 Mercuriades: The FCCQ launches the 35th edition of Québec's most prestigious business awards Français
MONTRÉAL, Sept. 22, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) is proud to announce the launch of the 2015 Mercuriades Awards. This prestigious annual competition recognizes excellence and expertise in the Québec business community.
Businesses of all sizes have until December 19, 2014, to submit a nomination package in one of the following categories:
- Productivity Improvement – Business Development Bank of Canada
- Contribution to Economic and Regional Development
- Sustainable Development
- Entrepreneurship – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton
- Export and International Market Development (SMBs only)
- Vocational and Technical Training
- Proactive Workforce Management
- Innovation – Investissement Québec
- Germaine Gibara Leadership Award (open to businesswomen)
- Workplace Health and Safety
- Business Transfer (SMBs only)
Three other honours will be presented, namely the Mérite Maurice Pollack, Mérite du français and Mérite Entrepreneurship Promotion awards, the nominations for which will be reviewed by external panels.
The winners in each of the categories will automatically be shortlisted for the top award of Business of the Year. Last year's recipients were Jalbert Automatisation (SMB) and Telus Québec (large business).
"For the past 35 years, the Mercuriades Awards have celebrated the success, vision and determination of our business leaders, who are an inspiration for the next generation of entrepreneurs and Québec's entire economic community," said FCCQ CEO Françoise Bertrand.
The names of the winning companies will be unveiled at a gala evening on April 16, 2015, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The honorary chair of the event will be Martin Thibodeau, Regional President, Québec, RBC Royal Bank.
"This represents a great opportunity for businesses to take stock of their achievements—a necessary step in preparing their nomination package—and to develop and explore numerous opportunities. Québec is growing and prospering because of the significant contributions made by these forward-thinking companies," Mr. Thibodeau stated.
