Largest Hydroelectric Event in the Country
NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, ON, Oct. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - The Ontario Waterpower Association's (OWA) annual Power of Water Canada Conference and Tradeshow is scheduled to take place October 23rd – 25th at the White Oaks Conference Resort in Niagara-on-the Lake.

The opening keynote will be delivered by the Honourable Glenn Thibeault, Minister of Energy. On the evening of October 24th participants will hear perspectives from the Progressive Conservative Party, the New Democratic Party and the Green Party Ontario. This discussion will be moderated by television and media producer John Michael McGrath. MPP Patrick Brown, Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party, will be the keynote speaker the morning of October 25th.

This year OWA is also celebrating Canada's 150th birthday with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport's Ontario 150 Fund. As part of Ontario 150, OWA implemented a public outreach campaign that delivered five (5) waterpower facility public tours in Ontario and developed an educational catalogue with OWA members featuring the facilities in Ontario over 100 years old.
The OWA was founded in 2001 to represent the common and collective interests of the province's original renewable energy sector – waterpower. More than 160 members are committed to advancing responsible resource management and sustainable development.
