TORONTO, June 4, 2020 /CNW/ - With the 2019/20 core television season now at a close, Numeris data confirms that CTV is Canada's most-watched television network in primetime for an unprecedented 19th year in a row. Looking at television performance in Canada for the broadcast season, CTV delivered the most Top 10, Top 20, and Top 30 programs with total viewers, A18-49, and A25-54.
Overall Audience Highlights
- CTV and CTV2 are the only conventional television networks in Canada to see full-day growth among total viewers for the past two years
- CTV remains the most-watched network across Daytime, Primetime, and Late Night, leading with total viewers and across the key A25-54, A18-34, and A18-49 demos
- CTV's full-day audience has grown 3% to now lead its closest competitor by 57% with total viewers, with a 34% advantage in primetime
- In the key A25-54 demo, CTV's advantage has grown 8% in primetime, expanding its lead over its closest competitor to 30%
- CTV reaches 18 million Canadians on average each week, more than any other network
- CTV is the most-watched network in primetime five days of the week
- Streaming audiences on CTV.ca have increased double digits over last year
2019/2020 Primetime Schedule
CTV delivered the most-watched new series of the year with 9-1-1: LONE STAR, leading with total viewers and across all key demos, marking the tenth consecutive year the #1 new series among A25-54 has landed on the network. Including 9-1-1: LONE STAR, CTV has three of the Top 5 new programs for total viewers and A25-54.
Among A25-54, CTV is also home to the most-watched comedy (THE CONNERS), most-watched drama (GREY'S ANATOMY), most-watched daytime talk program (ELLEN), and the most-watched entertainment news program (ETALK).
With a strong slate of CTV Original series on the schedule, CTV has the two most-watched Canadian dramas (TRANSPLANT and CARDINAL), and the most-watched new Canadian lifestyle series, I DO, REDO.
