MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 4, 2018 /CNW/ - The fun-to-drive Subaru BRZ retains its title as the most affordable rear-wheel drive sports car in Canada for 2019, offering an exciting drive at an attainable price.
Featuring an ultra-low centre of gravity and the classic front-engine, rear drive layout of a true sports car, the 2019 BRZ delivers an engaging drive thanks to its precision handling and impressive performance.
Powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder SUBARU BOXER engine with port- and direct fuel injection, the BRZ delivers up to 205 horsepower and 156 lb.-ft. of torque that is sent to the rear wheels via the choice of a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission or available six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and paddle shifters.
For 2019, the BRZ adds a new rear wheel arch aero fin and fine-tuned rear suspension damping, as well as the latest version of Subaru's touchscreen infotainment system that is faster and smoother with an improved refresh rate and allows for over-the-air map updates.
The 2019 BRZ will be available in three trims when it goes on sale at Subaru dealers across Canada this month, including the entry-level, Sport-tech and Sport-tech RS models.
The BRZ entry model comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and TORSEN limited-slip differential, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail- and headlights, wiper-activated headlights, one-touch turn signals and welcome lighting. Inside, the BRZ includes a seven-inch infotainment system that features GPS navigation as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, STARLINK smartphone integration, Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity with voice activation and Bluetooth streaming audio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
The 2019 BRZ Sport-tech is equipped with six-speed automatic transmission, proximity key with push-button start, black leather and Alcantara upholstery with red stitching, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control and LED fog lights.
Finally, the BRZ Sport-tech RS comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and performance SACHS dampers and Brembo brakes at all four corners with 17-inch gunmetal grey alloy wheels.
