MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 10, 2020 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to introduce the newly refreshed 2021 Crosstrek. Building on its innovative design, efficiency and impressive levels of safety, the Crosstrek is versatile enough to shine in any driving scenario – suitable for any style of driver.
The 2021 Crosstrek exterior features a new grille design that compliments its sculpted body, prominent wheel arches and flowing lines. Standing on a 2,665 mm wheelbase, the wheels were also refined. Plus, this compact crossover is nimble and more than capable with 220 mm of ground clearance.
The Subaru Global Platform, together with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and available EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, are core technologies for Subaru and provide a foundation for the next generation of Subaru vehicles. For increased safety and peace of mind, Subaru's EyeSight safety suite, which includes features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning, lane-keep assist, lead vehicle start alert and more, is standard on all Crosstrek models equipped with the Lineartronic CVT.
The refreshed Crosstrek features the latest generation of EyeSight, which introduces Lane Centring Assist — a new lane-centring function integrated into the crossover's adaptive cruise control system. While drivers must maintain control of the vehicle at all times and keep their hands on the steering wheel, this new functionality uses the EyeSight system's stereoscopic cameras to recognize lane markings and the preceding vehicle to stay centred within the vehicle's lane of travel.
The New Crosstrek Outdoor
The Crosstrek Outdoor is equipped with a 2.5-litre direct-injection Subaru BOXER engine for increased power and enhanced capability. Providing 182 horsepower and 176 lb.-ft. of torque and coupled with dual-function X-MODE, this new powertrain will further strengthen Crosstrek's reputation for excitement. The Outdoor model will include Subaru's core safety systems, especially SUBARU STARLINK® Connected Services, Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) and a new front-view camera which provides a near 180 degree view in front of the vehicle for safely entering blind intersections or when forward parking.
The Crosstrek Outdoor also owns several select design elements including, front grille accent, exterior mirror caps, badging, fog light cover accents and a shark fin antenna – all with gun metallic colouring. On the inside, the Outdoor has yellow and gun metallic trim accents, yellow stitching and all-weather soft-touch seating surfaces. Plus, more noticeable is the unique and aggressive side cladding, dark grey painted 17-inch wheels, and an optional Plasma Yellow Pearl exterior colour – exclusive to Crosstrek Outdoor.
Choice of Eight Trims
The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is available in eight trim levels in Canada: Convenience, Convenience with Eyesight, Touring, Touring with Eyesight, Outdoor, Sport, Sport with Eyesight and Limited. Additionally, the Touring and Sport trims add the comfort of a heated steering wheel, while the Limited trim also gets the new 2.5-litre direct-injection Subaru BOXER engine.
