20th Annual Salvation Army Santa Shuffle Was a Huge Success
Presented by All Weather Windows, 10,000 Runners Raised Funds to Support Salvation Army Programs
TORONTO, Dec. 4 /CNW/ - Today, in 37 cities nationwide, close to 10,000 runners braved whatever December weather could throw at them and participated in The Salvation Army Santa Shuffle Presented by All Weather Windows. This 5 km run and 1 km elf walk is held annually to raise funds that support Salvation Army social and community service programs across Canada. While donations are still coming in, The Salvation Army is hopeful that it will exceed $500,000.
This is the first year that All Weather Windows has participated as the National Presenting Sponsor and The Salvation Army is thrilled with their support. "It is inspiring to see the spirit of Christmas and the generosity of Canadians such as those from All Weather Windows," says Graham Moore, Territorial Secretary for Public Relations and Development of The Salvation Army. "Proceeds from this event will help restore hope and dignity to women and children in crisis, feed and provide shelter for the homeless and help make Christmas a possibility for those in need."
All Weather Windows, Canada's largest independent window and door maker, is committed to community involvement. CEO Gord Wiebe believes that the partnership with the Salvation Army is an excellent illustration of the positive values that All Weather Windows deems important, as this is an opportunity to give back to the community and assist those in need. "This is the first year of a three year partnership with the Salvation Army and we are proud to be the National Sponsor of the Santa Shuffle and Elf Walk - a uniquely Canadian event. Our goal was to raise $100,000 in the first year and with the support of our employees, customers, partners and friends, we have donated money and time to this worthwhile cause. We are so pleased to announce that we have surpassed our $100,000 goal through generous donations from our employees, customers and partners. All Weather Windows is focused on excellence and customer satisfaction and exceeding the goal set for the Salvation Army is an accomplishment. The work of the Salvation Army improves the lives of individuals, one at a time. Our company values are closely aligned with this mission of excellence in service."
