What the recent Ice Bucket Challenge did to support families in our province.
OTTAWA, Nov. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - The ALS Society of PEI is pleased to announce that $102.000 was raised by over 500 generous Islanders. In addition to being part of the exciting national research program with ALS Canada and partnership with Brain Canada, donations will be used to expand existing services in the province which include: the purchase of specialized equipment and replacement of aging equipment.
"We are very excited about the unprecedented awareness raised by the ICE Bucket Challenge and the generosity of Islanders in supporting individuals and families living with this fatal disease" says Bernie Plourde, Board Directory of the ALS Society of PEI. "We are most grateful for this show of support".
