260,000 Canadians raise over $16 million through ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (Saskatchewan Specific Release)
OTTAWA, Nov. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - We as the board of the ALS Society of Saskatchewan are privileged with stewarding over $525,000 dollars generously donated by over 8,000 Saskatchewanians. The Ice Bucket challenge brought an astonishing amount of public awareness and funds to our organization. We in Saskatchewan provide an equipment loan program for equipment not funded by our provincial health care system, financial aid programs, support groups, host a national youth retreat and are a part of the national research program partnership with ALS Canada and Brain Canada. We will also utilize this amazing gift to develop new programs that address the other needs of our community.
We thank you from our organization for the funds generously donated, for the recognition of this fatal disease and the warmth and solidarity of support of those living with ALS by all Canadians.
