MONTREAL, Nov. 11, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Online registration for the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon races will re-open starting Thursday, November 12 at midnight, Eastern Time.
Those who register will join the 8,800 participants who signed up during the Marathon EXPO and pre-sale in September. "With such a high pre-registration rate, organizers are expecting the event to reach capacity with a turnout of more than 35,000 runners," states Marathon spokesperson Dominique Arsenault, adding that "at this rate, races could sell out as early as May".
Those runners who are interested are invited to enter one of the five races that make up Quebec's biggest running event, including the largest half marathon in Canada. The races will take place in Montreal on Sunday, September 25, 2016.
The public will also be part of the event as usual. "The rock 'n' roll aspect of the event has added a really festive dimension that has been a huge hit with the public over the past few years. Runners participate to take on a challenge but also to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the event and its finish line with their friends and family. This year will be no different and we expect an even bigger crowd than we saw in 2015," boasts Arsenault.

About the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon
In 2016 the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon will be celebrating the 26th edition of the Montreal Marathon. Organized by Festival de la Santé, in conjunction with Competitor Canada, the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series is the world's largest running series, with over 500,000 runners participating in events worldwide every year. The series started in 1998 with the simple idea of making running fun, and has transformed the running landscape by livening up the route with live bands, cheer teams and entertaining water stations, creating a block-party atmosphere for participants and spectators alike. Today, the series of marathons and half-marathons has spread to more than 30 destination cities, drawing visitors from around the world. Over the history of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series, charity partners have raised more than $300 million through the events for a variety of worthy causes.
