2717 meters of Drilling Completed at Nox Fort Project, Salmo, B.C.
Drilling at the Nox Fort project Bunker Hill/Lefevre targets produced over 1350 core samples which are in various stages of logging, cutting or preparation for transportation to ACME Laboratories
In addition to diamond drilling, surface exploration in 2009 included prospecting and mapping, regional stream sediment and rock sampling, and Soil Gas Hydrocarbon (SGH) and magnetometer geophysical surveys. Preliminary analytical results from the 2009 program are encouraging. WestCore Drilling Ltd. of Salmo, B.C. drilled 10 diamond drill holes totaling 2717 meters which tested RIRGD priority targets generated from both the 2008 and 2009 field exploration programs.
At the Clease prospect, rock chip and resampling of potential RIRGD mineralization confirmed gold grades ranging to 7.2 g/t. Above the mineral occurrence Bluestar adit (12 meters) and along strike, outcrop chip samples returned up to 10.6 g/t gold over 1.2 meters and a single pyrite-rich grab sample contained 91.6 g/t gold. Grab samples from dump material at Bluestar range to 8.0 g/t gold where veins and structures may be related to the regional Waneta thrust fault. Important new results from the 2009 Soil Gas Hydrocarbon (SGH) survey of the Bluestar area may have identified geochemical gold targets not directly coincident with the Bluestar known structures and mineralization.
The 2009 Nox Fort Project surface program also included a significant expansion of the Soil Gas Hydrocarbon (SGH) survey grid in the Bunker Hill /Lefevre RIRGD target area. Activation Laboratories Ltd., Ancaster, Ont., evaluation of 2008 and new 2009 SGH results identified priority geochemical gold target areas that include both east and west contacts of the RIRGD Bunker Hill intrusion. This season, Minconsult Exploration Services Ltd. collected 320 soil samples, 228 regional rock samples, 91 stream sediments and conducted ground magnetometer surveying and geological mapping and prospecting.
All field work was conducted from Salmo, B.C. by geologists and geotechnical staff of Minconsult Exploration Services and the drill program was supervised by J.
All soil samples were shipped by secure transport to Activation Laboratories Ltd., Ancaster, Ont. where they were prepared and analyzed using their Soil Gas Hydrocarbon methodology. They interpreted the geochromatography results and provided Jaxon with a SGH evaluation report for gold targets at the Nox Fort project.
All stream sediment and regional or detailed rock sampling material was shipped by secure transport to Acme Analytical Laboratories (
