29Secrets.com Chooses Their #29DaysofHope Honouree and Celebrates Canadian Women Making a Difference!

TORONTO, June 2, 2014  /CNW/ - 29Secrets.com (an Ideon Media property), chose Doina Oncel as their honouree for #29DaysofHope, celebrating inspiring Canadian women in support of the Delivering Hope Program at the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness (CCAA). Oncel's story of escaping an abusive relationship, being homeless and turning all her hardships in to a successful career all while being a fantastic role model for her children solidified her as the most inspiring nominee.

"It feels amazing to be recognized for my passion to give women opportunities," said Oncel. "This has given me so much more motivation to move forward and continue to spread the message that overcoming adversity has its rewards. For all the girls and young women out there: You are capable of more than you think."

Readers had the chance to nominate women who are positive influencers that strive to make our communities a better place. Oncel founded hEr VOLUTION, a non-profit organization to encourage girls and young women to pursue STEM- (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) based careers. As the grand prize winner, she receives a feature article on 29Secrets.com and a makeover donated by H&M, Almay and Kevin Murphy, services from West Salon and Spa and a gift card from Dine.TO.
