More than 200 members of the business community will get on BIXI bikes and undertake various challenges to raise funds for young Montreal businesses
MONTREAL, April 15, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Fondation du maire : le Montréal inc. de demain team is pleased to announce the return of the Rallye Montréal inc. The second edition of this fun and unique fundraising event will take place Wednesday May 15th from noon onwards.
After drawing much attention on the streets of downtown and Old Montreal last year, some forty corporate teams, representing more than 200 participants, will hop on BIXI bikes graciously provided for the day. The teams will undertake a number of challenges set by local firms along a wonderful route stretching some 20 kilometers around Maisonneuve Park and Montreal's Olympic Park.
« Thanks to our partners' generous support, as well as the enthusiastic participation of Montreal's business community, the Rallye Montréal inc. managed to collect $136,000 for its first edition in 2012 », explained Liette Lamonde, Executive Director of the Foundation. All funds are reinvested in start-up grants and programs supporting promising young entrepreneurs, in accordance with the Foundation's mission statement.
Mr. Sylvain Vincent, Managing Partner, Eastern Canada at Ernst & Young and Mr. Renaud Coulombe, Vice-President and General Counsel at Desjardins Group act as honorary presidents this year. Confirmed partners Aimia, Astral, Cascades and Rio Tinto Alcan, are renewing their participation for this second edition. More than twenty teams have already signed on, including the Astral team which intends to defend its first place title.
A team made up of Foundation's laureates Atrium64, Atypic, Dialekta, Fitz & Follwell Co. and School Success will also ride for the cause. These participants are perfect examples of the great diversity and remarkable success of Foundation laureates.
