3000 Political Scientists Are Expected in Montreal to Discuss the Challenges of Contemporary Governance Français
MONTREAL, July 10, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The 23rd World Congress of Political Science, organized by the International Political Science Association (IPSA) will be held at the Palais des Congrès of Montreal from July 19 to 24, (159, Saint Antoine Street West ).
This theme of this year's edition is "the challenges of contemporary governance". Numerous topics will be addressed, most notably Boko Haram and the Nigerian governance crisis , the problems emerging from the Arab Spring (Egypt, Tunisia), Quebec's nationalism, ethnic minorities and immigrants' rights, and the "Charter of Values" , Stephen Harper's constitutionalism , corruption around the world, among others. Several renowned guests will participate in the congress, including Michael Dukakis, former U.S. presidential candidate and former Massachusetts governor; Carwyn Jones, First Minister of Wales; and Rod Rhodes, an internationally-known specialist on the concept of "governance".
