TORONTO, Jan. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Playing host to Canada's top New Year's Eve bash, ET Canada kicked off 2013 with a bang! Broadcast live from one of North America's natural wonders, the fourth annual 'New Year's Eve at Niagara Falls' garnered 846,000 (2+, National) viewers on Monday night with a total reach of 6.0 million (2+, National).
Hosted by Cheryl Hickey and Matte Babel, with the help of Rosey Edeh, the two-hour coast-to-coast countdown was up 12% (2+, National) for Global Television from last year with viewership peaking at 12am with 2.0 million viewers.
The electrifying show, which saw a record-breaking 65,000 concert-goers in attendance, featured performances by music heavyweights Dragonette, Hedley and Nelly Furtado. The event quickly became a trending topic across the country and tweets including the #ETCNYE hashtag were featured in the broadcast throughout the night.
