38th edition of the Hydro-Québec Super Science Fair, Québec Final is under way! Dare Science and discover the top 125 science projects in Québec Français
SOREL-TRACY, QC, April 22, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Today marks the start of the 2016 Hydro-Québec Super Expo-science fair, Québec Final, at the Aurèle-Racine Curling Club in Sorel-Tracy, Montérégie. Everyone is invited to come and discover the 125 best projects in the province…for free! The projects, created by 12 to 20 years old students, were all selected this past months during the Hydro-Québec Regional Finals.

All about innovation and creativity
After succeeding at the local level and the regional finals of the Hydro-Québec Science Fair, the young exhibitors now have the opportunity to excel at the top provincial tier of the competition, showing off their projects to their families.
"When you visit the Québec Final of the Super Expo-sciences Hydro-Québec, you meet dozens of young people displaying astounding innovative spirit!" says Marthe Poirier, National Co-ordinator of the Science Fairs Program. "We're nothing short of amazed when we see exhibitors in their teenage years who are working on a project such as making sea water drinkable, create an app to stop us from texting while driving, or make meals out of insects! The Réseau CDLS-CLS is proud to lend its expertise to allow the tomorrow's scientists to excel."
$250,000 in prizes for the next generation of scientists.
On Sunday, April 24th, everyone is invited to attend the awards ceremony, $250,000 in prizes will be handed out. The ceremony will be held at École secondaire Bernard-Gariépy gymnasium and is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. Webcast coverage of the ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at exposciences.qc.ca.
During the ceremony, the names of the exhibitors who will represent the province of Québec at the Canada-Wide Science Fair, sponsored by Merck Canada Inc., will be announced. The delegation will be heading to Montreal, from May 15th to 20th. Three exhibitors will also be chosen to take part in the MILSET International Science Fair, to be held next year in Brazil.
