55 $1 Million MAXMILLIONS Prizes Added to LOTTO MAX Draw
Prize Amount Reaches $105 Million
TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - Lottery players in Ontario have an estimated 55 more chances to become a millionaire this Friday. The LOTTO MAX draw for June 25, 2010 will add an estimated additional 55 $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes to the $50 million jackpot, bringing the total prize amount to $105 million.
"Last week we had 16 prize winning MAXMILLIONS tickets in Ontario. We anticipate that there will be a lot more this week, with approximately 55 more $1 million prizes up for grabs," said Wendy Montgomery, Vice-President of Lottery Marketing at Ontario Lottery and Gaming.
Lotto Max Game Facts:
- One LOTTO MAX ticket is $5 and there are three sets of numbers on each ticket - Each ticket gives players a chance at the $50 million jackpot, but also the chance to win any of the estimated 55 x $1 million MAXMILLIONS draws for this Friday's draw. - MAXMILLIONS prizes are drawn separately from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw; there will be an estimated 56 draws on Friday night - one for the jackpot and fifty-five additional draws for the MAXMILLIONS prizes. - In order to win the Lotto Max jackpot or a MAXMILLIONS prize, players must match 7/7 numbers (from one to 49). - Odds of winning the LOTTO MAX jackpot are one in 28.6 million per $5 play.
Due to the additional volume of the estimated 55 MAXMILLIONS prizes, it will take extra time to conduct the evening's draws, which may result in delays in the publishing of winning numbers and ticket validations at your retailer on Saturday morning. This is the sixth time since LOTTO MAX launched in September 2009 that the jackpot has been at $50 million plus MAXMILLIONS.
Since the game launched in September 2009, there have been 86 MAXMILLIONS winners in total, 28 of them from Ontario. LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won $147 million in prizes, including three jackpot wins.
