7-Eleven Canada Celebrates 7-Eleven Day with Giveaway and Street Named "Slurpee Way"

VANCOUVER, July 4, 2018 /CNW/ - 7-Eleven Canada has announced that this year's 7-Eleven Day comes with a few surprises. On July 11, 2018, the company will give away 1,500 free, small Birthday Slurpee drinks in its 590 Canadian stores – one of the largest giveaways in Canada.

"It may be our birthday, but we are giving back to our fans who support us every step of the way," said Doug Rosencrans, Vice President and General Manager of 7-Eleven Canada. "This year's 7-Eleven Day is a reflection of our customers – their passion and connection to 7-Eleven. At this year's event, the cup will feature photos of our Slurpee fans. We will offer exclusive Slurpee flavours for the summer, and share close to 900,000 free Slurpee drinks. We will name a Canadian street in honour of the iconic drink that is closely tied to our Canadian culture."

7-Eleven Day has become an unofficial holiday in its own right. This 7-Eleven Day, customers
can enjoy exclusive new summer flavours available only at 7-Eleven stores across Canada – Maynards Sour Patch Kids Watermelon, Dole Raspberry Lemon, and Crush Gummie Bear Slurpee. For the 19th year in a row, Manitoba was named the Slurpee Capital of the World, proving that Manitobans, and all Canadians, have a special sense of Slurpee pride. To pay tribute to its loyal fans, the City of Winnipeg has designated a block of a street in Winnipeg with the honourary name of "Slurpee Way".

And there is more for 7Rewards members who scan their 7-Eleven App. Members who scan during 7-Eleven Day will be eligible to win a contest where 1 million points will be awarded to one individual per participating province (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario). As a bonus, for members who scan their free cup, 711 Birthday points will be added to 7-Eleven App user accounts the day after 7-Eleven Day. The free Birthday Slurpee cup scan counts towards the 7^th cup free program.
