MONTREAL, March 12, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of the 90th Annual General Meeting of La Coop fédérée, which took place at the Quebec City Congress Centre, delegates from its network gathered on Thursday, March 1, 2012 to elect a new board of directors.
During the election proceedings, two new directors were elected: Benoît Massicotte (Territory 13) from La Coop Univert, and Muriel Dubois from La Coop Covilac (Territory 7).
Among the five directors whose term expired this year and that stood for re-election, three were re-elected:
1- Marc A. Turcotte, 2003: 1st seat on the executive seat (Territory 1)
2- Sophie Bédard, 2006: 2nd seat on the executive (Territory 8)
3- Marc Quesnel, 2009 (Territory 11)
The following continue in their current positions on the board of directors:
Ghislain Cloutier, 1996: 1st Vice-president (Territory 3)
Luc Forget, 1999: 2nd Vice-president (Territory 12)
Charles Proulx, 2004 (Territory 2)
Ghislain Gervais, 2011 (Territory 9)
Mathieu Couture, 2011 (Territory 4)
Jean Bissonnette, 2011 (Territory 10)
Normand Marcil, 2002 (Territory 15)
Françoise Mongrain, 2007 (Territory 14)
Serge Boivin, 2010 (Territory 7)
Denis Richard, President of La Coop fédérée, also received a renewed mandate as president for the 9th consecutive year.
"I would like to warmly thank Damien Lemire (2006) and Conrad Robitaille (2009) for what they have brought to the achievements of the last year. During the course of their respective mandates they have, without doubt, contributed to the advancement of our cooperative model, and this on all levels - social, economic and environmental," explained Mr. Richard.
Lastly, Claude Lafleur, the Chief Executive Officer, joined with Mr. Richard in welcoming the new directors to the board. "I am very happy with the make-up of our new board of directors, especially with a third woman joining the team," affirmed Mr. Lafleur.
