Government of Canada to provide over $450,000 in funding to APF Villeneuve
CRABTREE, QC, Dec. 18, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
A business in the Lanaudière region will receive financial support from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions to carry out an innovation project. Thanks to CED's $461,835 in financial assistance, APF Villeneuve will be able to purchase leading-edge equipment which will increase its productivity. The project supported by CED will generate nearly $900,000 in total investments.
This funding was announced today by the Member of Parliament for LaSalle-Émard-Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, David Lametti, on behalf of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, the Honourable Navdeep Bains. The funds are a repayable contribution made as part of CED's Quebec Economic Development Program.
This financial assistance will enable APF Villeneuve to purchase a digitally controlled robotic machining cell to cut, turn and bore complex parts with high precision. The business will therefore be able to make technological advances and prepare for the emergence of new practices in the industry.
Businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources in order to launch and carry out innovative projects. To that end, the Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian businesses. A driving force of the economy, innovation is the key to success, generating the growth that benefits both businesses and communities.
