MONTREAL, Nov. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quays of the Old Port of Montréal are proud to unveil their uninterrupted weekend program, from December 4, 2010 to March 6, 2011. The winter season officially begins on Saturday December 4, 2010 with the opening of the skating rink and the first of 6 TELUS Fire on Ice events and then activities will go on every week-end until March 6, 2011.

2 BONUS PERFORMANCES for this year!
This year, the TELUS Fire on Ice will be offering Montrealers and tourists 2 bonus displays, one on Saturday, December 25 for the Christmas celebration, the other on Friday December 31, New Year's Eve as part of the Old Montréal's Extravaganza!

THE QUAYS' SKATING RINK
A Winter Delight!
Located at the Bonsecours Basin, the Quays of the Old Port skating rink features impeccable ice in an exciting, warm atmosphere, surrounded by magnificent views of Old Montréal, the St. Lawrence, and downtown Montréal. It remains the favourite outdoor skating rink for Montrealers of all ages. Weather and temperature permitting, the rink will extend into a 1.5 kilometre natural ice ring, much to the pleasure of skaters. The Quays of the Old port now offer visitors a new foot bridge linking the Quays'Promenade to the Bonsecours Basin.
The rink will be open every day, from December 4, 2010 to March 6, 2011. The dressing room features a skate sharpening service and is open to all at the Bonsecours Pavilion.
Operating hours: Monday to Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
BOTA BOTA: The floating spa
New this year!
Moored at the Quays of the Old Port, at the foot of McGill Street, the former five-bridge ferryboat Bota Bota has been completely modernised to offer more than twenty titillating foot and hand treatment rooms, a yoga and meditation studio, and a bistro. The upper bridges are dedicated to saunas, steam baths, whirlpool baths, water sources, and resting areas. Throughout, visitors can treat themselves to incredible views of the City and the River from large terraces that feature 678 portholes. The BMO Bank of Montréal Highlights Festival, to be held in February, makes the Quays of the Old Port and Old Montréal central gathering points for families. It features free outdoor activities, lots of fresh air, braseros by which to warm up when the fresh air gets to be too much, candlelight parades, and children's activities, all in the festive spirit that characterises Montrealers. MARITIME SYMPHONIES
On Sunday, February 27 and Sunday March 6, at 1:30 p.m.
A veritable tradition, well anchored in Montréal for the past 17 years, the Pointe-à-Callière Maritime Symphonies will be featuring a composition by Yugoslavia-born Montrealer Anthony Rozankovic. Sirens and foghorns from ships moored at the Old Port Quays will blend with locomotive horns and the bells of Notre-Dame church in a unique open-air concert that will resonate in perfect harmony from the Promenade of the Old Port Quays to Place Royale.
