TORONTO, Aug. 16, 2017 /CNW/ - After being spared elimination for the second time this season in last week's episode, Andrea and Ebonie's luck ran out as the pair were the last team to reach the Pit Stop in Corner Brook, N.L., on last night's episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA on CTV. The business partners fell behind during the Season's first Face-Off, and couldn't make up their lost time.
"Every risk you could have taken on this race, we took, and we are proud of it, we wouldn't change anything," said Andrea. "Our friendship was strong, but this just made it so much stronger." "This was the most beautiful experience that I could have ever shared with you (Andrea)," said Ebonie. "It's only confirmed that you're so much more than my best friend, you mean the world to me."
CTV also announced today that immediately following the Season 5 finale of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA (Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), the fan-favourite, one-hour after-show special, AFTER THE RACE returns, airing Sept. 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. In last night's (Aug. 15) episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, all six teams raced to Corner Brook, N.L., where a special clue awaited them at a local BMO branch. Sam, who had been eagerly waiting to find out if he had been accepted into medical school, was overjoyed when the clue was from his mom confirming his acceptance. After receiving the clue from their loved ones, teams made their way to The Discovery Centre at Grose Morne National Park.
Teams then had to select one of two Detours – "Find Your Dory" or "Family Story." In "Find Your Dory," teams had to row a dory boat and search for a pile of lobster traps that contained their clue. Once they spotted their clue, teams had to land their boat, grab the clue, and row back to shore to continue racing. In "Family Story," teams had to reconstruct a Viking family tree. After they gathered information from three Viking gods, Racers had to place each family members name in the correct position on the tree. Once they successfully assembled the family tree, Racers received their next clue. Kenneth and Ryan struggled to find their stride in "Find Your Dory," while Sam and Paul performed swimmingly well, and took the lead.
Since Andrea and Ebonie were saved from elimination in the last leg, they had to complete a Speed Bump, where they had to master the art of archery. After reaching a combined score of 25 points, Andrea and Ebonie received their next clue, and continued racing.
After the Detour, teams made their way to a Face-Off, a challenge that can dramatically change the game. In a Face-Off, teams cannot move forward until they have successfully won against another team. This Canada 150 Challenge had teams throwing strikes to move to the top. After playing a ten frame bowling game, the team with the highest score would receive their next clue, while the other team, had to wait for the next team to arrive before they can play again. Sam and Paul were the first to arrive at the Face-Off, and the first to leave with the next clue. Andrea and Ebonie were the last team at the Face-Off, and had to wait out a set time before continuing with the Race.
Teams then made their way to Swirsky's comedy club, where one Racer had to memorize 12 jokes, and perform them in front of a local audience. If the Racer struggled to get the audience laughing, they were booed off the stage, but once they had them in stiches, they received their next clue. Sam and Paul continued their lead by finishing the Roadblock first, while Ebonie was the last Racer to finish the Roadblock.
Dating couple Sam and Paul were first to arrive to the Pit Stop at Captain Cook Lookout, winning a trip for two to Costa Rica. Andrea and Ebonie couldn't make up their lost time, and were eliminated from the Race.
Last night's episode encores Saturday, Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Sunday, Aug. 20 at 5 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. Visit CTV.ca to check local listings. Previous seasons are also available for streaming now on CraveTV.
On the next episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA (Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), teams head south to Panama City, where a Detour has some teams letting loose, while others hit their stride, and a Roadblock has Racers feeling colour blind.

- Korey and Ivana – Best Friends – Toronto, Ont.
