Desjardins applies tablet computer technology to its automated teller machines
LÉVIS, QC, March 22, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group (www.desjardins.com) presents its new generation of touch-screen user interface ATMs, inspired by tablet computer technology. With a simple touch of the finger on the screen—no longer on the traditional keypad—the user can make various transactions, view financial information in different accounts and even read messages sent to him or her personally.
These new ATMs will display several new options on the screen and even recognize the user's preferences. For example, simply by touching the screen, the user will see the amount of cash withdrawal he or she regularly requests.
A first in the field of financial services in Canada, this innovation makes serving the members of Desjardins caisses even better. As a starting point, Desjardins plans to install six touch-screen user interface ATMs in different locations around Québec. These six pilot ATMs will provide valuable feedback for the gradual development of other ATMs.
"And that's just the beginning," exclaims Normand Desautels, Senior Vice-President of Personal Services. "In this International Year of Cooperatives, Desjardins is proud to demonstrate its sense of innovation by offering its members the unique experience of using a new and improved ATM tailored to their individual needs."
