MONTRÉAL, Feb. 1, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) is pleased to announce the launch of a new bilingual electronic service in Canada for the issuing of certificates of origin and certification of export documents, offered in partnership with the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal (BTMM). This platform developed by eCertify will enable export companies to save time and money, as well as improve their compliance with export procedures.
"We are very proud to offer the bilingual online certification platform in Canada. The FCCQ has a long-standing commitment to contributing to the international visibility of local businesses by facilitating and demystifying the export process for entrepreneurs. With this new electronic service, businesses have one less administrative burden to deal with when making the jump to international markets," says Françoise Bertrand, President and CEO of the FCCQ.
"The Board is especially pleased to have participated in the development of this brand new online service. Certification is a key aspect of the export process for our businesses. Each year, the Board certifies over a thousand documents. With this new platform, both the entrepreneurs that use our services as well as our team will improve their efficiency," adds Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal.
Certificates of origin, which attest to the origin of merchandise intended for export, are key documents in international trade and may be required by various bodies, including customs, importers and banks. Boards of trade are recognized worldwide as having the authority to certify these documents.
The new eCertify electronic certification platform propelled by the FCCQ and BTMM greatly transforms and simplifies the current paper certification process. It enables businesses to submit and receive their documents electronically through a user-friendly online interface. This bilingual service, which is being offered starting today by the BTMM, will subsequently be made available by all boards of trade across Québec to the businesses in their area, whether directly or through the BTMM.
The FCCQ would like to thank Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions for its invaluable support in the development of this service.
