MONTREAL, Nov. 29, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Journal de Montréal published an article today concerning the suicide of a former employee of Batshaw Youth and Family Centres involved in a lawsuit following allegations of having a sexual relationship with a client who would have become pregnant.
Batshaw Centres considers this dramatic situation to be extremely sad to all concerned.
As the establishment mandated to provide youth protection services in English for the island of Montreal, we can only reiterate that any type of professional misconduct or abuse is totally unacceptable. In this particular situation, the employee was immediately suspended and an in-depth investigation was undertaken as soon as the allegations of professional misconduct were brought to our attention. This led to a termination of employment on March 30, 2012.
As the situation has been brought to the attention of the Courts, we are unable to provide any further comments regarding this particular situation.
