TORONTO, Aug. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - After falling behind during the Detour, father and son Zed and Shabbir were the last team to reach the mat in tonight's episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA on CTV. The "bald and the beard" struggled to catch up after switching Detours, and were eliminated from the Race at the Pit Stop in Bangkok, Thailand.
"It's crazy to think that six years ago he was struggling to get up from bed, and move around, and to do the things he's done, he's my mentor, he's my idol, and I am very proud of him," said Zed. "I found out that Zed was a lot smarter than I ever give credit for. I am proud of him, I really am very proud," said Shabbir.

In tonight's episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA, the remaining seven teams continued racing by high-speed train from Beijing to Shanghai, China. Once they arrived, they had to search for the Montréal-style deli, Tock's, and recite the Mandarin phrase they learned at The Great Wall of China to receive their next clue. Then the tour of Asia continued as teams travelled to Bangkok, Thailand. Once there, teams had to search the busy streets for the Caturday Cat Café and find their next clue among the kittens.
After ripping in to their clues, teams were presented with a chance to score a Fast Forward, which would take one team all the way to the Pit Stop. Adam and Andrea, Korey and Ivana, and Kenneth and Ryan decided to take the gamble and head to the Fast Forward, where they needed to master the competitive sport of Hoop Takraw. As the first team to arrive, Adam and Andrea had to use only their feet, chest, and heads, to pass a ball to their partner without it hitting the ground, and then immediately hit the ball into a hoop above their heads for a goal. After a couple of failed attempts, Adam and Andrea scored a goal, winning the Fast Forward and going directly to the Pit Stop at Wat Thewarat Kunchorn Worawiharn Temple and winning a 14 day trip back to Bangkok from Sinorama.
The remaining teams travelled by boat through the canals to The Artist's House, where they needed to perform a traditional puppet show. This detailed puppet routine proved difficult for some teams, including Zed and Shabbir, who made multiple attempts before realizing they misunderstood their clue and had to perform the routine in complete silence. Once they successfully completed the performance, they received their next clue.
Teams then had to choose between two Detours –"Bling-it" or "Shred-it." In "Bling-it," teams had to inspect two seemingly identical tuk tuks, a type of rickshaw popular in Thailand, and find a number of decorations that appeared on both. Teams then had to travel to the Amulet and Klongthom markets to purchase the decorations and make up their own tuk tuk to match the example. Once they adorned their tuk tuk with the correct decorations, they received their next clue. In "Shred-it," teams had to surf the rushing waves in downtown Bangkok and retrieve a dangling flag in order to receive their next clue. While Zed conquered the waves quickly, Shabbir struggled to master the skill of surfing. After multiple attempts, and multiple falls, Zed and Shabbir decided to switch Detours, putting them at the back of the pack. When Zed and Shabbir arrived at the Pit Stop in last place, they were told by Jon Montgomery that they were eliminated from THE AMAZING RACE CANADA.
