The DNA Experience urban ball raises $250,000 for the Fondation du CHUM
MONTREAL, Oct. 21, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The 3rd edition of the DNA Experience urban ball organized by the DNA Committee – the Future of the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) in collaboration with its capital partner Brault & Martineau took place on Friday, October 17 at the St. James Theatre. The event brought together some 500 guests and raised $250,000 to help provide the best possible care to patients of the CHUM, one of the largest teaching hospital centres in North America.
The evening, inspired by the miracles of research, was a successful and emotional one, thanks in part to the performance of DJ Champion, who was treated at the CHUM. "I wanted to get involved because it was an opportunity for me to express my deep gratitude to the amazing teams who saved my life," he said.
"We are very proud of the Committee and what it has achieved since its creation. The Committee members contribute in making a real difference and are also excellent ambassadors for our mission among their generation," said Ékram Antoine Rabbat, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Anne-Marie Côté, Event Manager of the Fondation du CHUM.
"Our peers have chosen to support the Fondation again this year by participating in our event. Their generous gesture is important, it brings hope to the hundreds of thousands of CHUM patients" said the members of the DNA Committee – the Future of the Fondation du CHUM.
The Committee would like to thank its generous partners: Brault & Martineau, Antonopoulos Group (BEVO Bar + Pizzeria, Taverne Gaspar, Kyo bar japonais, Méchant Bœuf, Vieux-Port Steakhouse and Rainspa), AccelLAB, Uber, Cohn & Wolfe, La Presse+ and SNC-Lavalin.

About the Fondation du CHUM
Placing the patient at the heart of its commitment, the mission of the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) is to support one of the largest teaching hospital centres in North America. Thanks to the generosity of its donors, the Fondation is able to provide a source of complementary funding to the CHUM, thus helping to maintain its position as an international benchmark. Since its inception in 1998, the Fondation has contributed more than $120 million to the hospital, helping it to acquire advanced equipment, supporting research projects leading to the development of promising treatments, and financing medical training and health promotion. The Fondation also relies on the support of its Clinique Santé-voyage and Clinique Santé-préventive, from which all profits go directly to the Fondation. Giving Ourselves the Best in Health Care.
