A market worth $6 billion annually - ProcurMed 2016: Quebec and Canada medical technology procurement forum Français
MONTREAL, March 17, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - A hundred or so Quebec companies, along with the main purchasing groups for medical technologies and products in Canada, will gather on March 18, at the Novotel Montreal Airport hotel, for the ProcurMed 2016 conference.
Medical procurement agencies from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec will be on hand at this event to explain their processes to Quebec businesses.
"A large number of SMEs based in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada are unfamiliar with the other provinces' medical equipment and technology needs, as well as their respective acquisition processes. This forum is therefore intended as an opportunity to find out about these various procurement policies, by bringing together those in charge of Canada's main purchasing groups," explained Benoit Larose, Vice-President – Quebec at MEDEC, the association for Canada's medical technology industry.
Perry Niro, President of Pharmed Canada and organizer of this inaugural forum, believes that the medical procurement groups have a mandate from Canada's largest hospitals for acquisition of medical equipment worth over $6 billion annually. "The MEDEC initiative meets companies' needs for a smart procurement process that favours the introduction of new technologies."
ProcurMed is a MEDEC initiative, organized by Pharmed Canada with the support of Export Québec. The conference agenda is available at http://www.procurmedcanada.com/
