A new public charging station in the regional county municipality of La Vallée-du-Richelieu Français
MCMASTERVILLE, QC, Dec. 9, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Electric Circuit and the regional county municipality (MRC) of La Vallée-du-Richelieu are pleased to announce the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles. The station is now in service in the MRC parking lot at 255, Boulevard Laurier, in McMasterville.
The arrival of this new charging station is the result of an initiative that brings together four organizations: le Conseil intermunicipal de transport de La Vallée-du-Richelieu (CITVR), the Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) de la Montérégie Est, the Centre local de développement (CLD) de La Vallée-du-Richelieu and the M.R.C. of La Vallée-du-Richelieu, which share the parking lot where the charging station is located, since all of their offices are housed in the same building.
Gilles Plante, the Mayor of McMasterville and Prefect of the MRC, describes his enthusiasm for the project and points out that "it is thanks to the collaboration of the CIT, CRÉ, CLD and MRC that we are making a concrete effort to encourage the use of clean vehicles. I can assure you that we will continue to promote the expansion of the Electric Circuit on our territory. We are on the right track!"
"We are very pleased to welcome the M.R.C. to the Electric Circuit", noted Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President – Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the partners of the Electric Circuit. "The arrival of this new partner in the Montérégie is great news for electric vehicle drivers. It illustrates the vitality of the region, which now has 88 public charging stations in operation."
