TORONTO, March 24, 2015 /CNW/ - Surrounded by lights, cameras and Canadian couture, tonight SUBWAY® Restaurants Canada made its runway debut at World MasterCard® Fashion Week in Toronto, presenting a capsule collection created by Canadian designer, Sunny Fong as part of a new collaboration called SUBWAY® Style. His collection, VAWK for SUBWAY®, included six head-to-toe looks inspired by the restaurant and was shown alongside Fong's fall/winter 2015 Dot Du Jour collection presentation.

SUBWAY® Style
SUBWAY® Restaurants partnered with established designer, Sunny Fong to create six custom creations inspired by SUBWAY® Restaurants, its ingredients and its mission to encourage healthy active lifestyles. The first two looks in the collection included yellow-gold leather accents with laser cut details of the SUBWAY® logo. Immediately following were two 'veggie-to-wear' pieces, inspired by lettuce and cucumbers. Fong took digital prints of each vegetable and printed on lush organza fabric to create two beautiful cocktail looks. Finally, Fong displayed two looks made completely from SUBWAY® materials where he created a polka-dot pattern out of SUBWAY® cups and sandwich wrappers. These looks were displayed in a dedicated installation in the fashion environment.
"For SUBWAY® Style, I wanted to create a cohesive collection that is linked to my Dot Du Jour presentation," said Sunny Fong, designer and founder of VAWK. "I had a lot of fun creating this line inspired by 60s pop art and high style. I wanted to present the brand in a way that is fresh, young and, ultimately – wearable."
Healthy Living is in Style
In an effort to commemorate Nutrition Month this March and promote healthy living, SUBWAY® Restaurants and Fong hand-picked models that represented a healthy and active lifestyle for the runway presentation. In addition, SUBWAY® Restaurants was present behind the scenes, providing sandwiches to the models and backstage team to help fuel them through the long show night.
