A Promise is a Promise - of filmmaker Jaime Gianopoulos and Major Jonathan Knaul

TORONTO, Oct. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Pickering College graduates Jaime Gianopoulos '06 and Jonathan Knaul '87 believe that you can do anything in this world, and know that with the help of good people, impossible dreams can come true.

A Promise is a Promise, a 60-minute documentary, produced by Jaime Gianopoulos, will premiere at Pickering College in Newmarket on Friday, October 12.  This film was inspired by the promise kept by Major Jonathan Knaul to Sheremet '06 and Musa '06, two young Kosovar men who survived the 1990s Kosova genocide and dreamed about one day becoming pilots. Major Knaul met the cousins and best friends while on a Canadian peacekeeping tour rotation in Kosova, and made a promise that if they wanted to find a better way in Canada, he would try and help them.  After much work, time and many setbacks, the boys successfully travelled to Canada, attended Pickering College, and graduated in 2006.
