MONTREAL, Aug. 8, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Palais des congrès de Montréal is proud to announce a partnership highlighting Québec creativity and know-how in its upcoming collection of uniform accessories for the organization. The internationally-renowned designer, Liz Vandal, will design all the new pieces that will be integrated into the uniforms of employees who have contact with the public as of the fall of 2013. This project, which will be a showcase for Québec culture, will be launched thanks to a collaboration with the Montréal company, Vestechpro.
Following the deliberations of a working committee that considered various proposals, Liz Vandal was chosen for her creative approach that adds a touch of finesse and distinction to the uniform worn by Palais employees, who serve nearly 650,000 visitors each year from around the globe. She will design an original collection in which the patterns, textures and colours recall the distinctive design elements for which the Palais is known internationally. The multi-coloured façade, the pink trees of the Lipstick Forest and other architectural elements will all be woven into the various accessories designed by Liz Vandal.
"The Palais des congrès made sure to include in its strategic objectives the goal of shining a spotlight on Québec talent and expertise at the Palais," said Marc Tremblay, President and CEO of the Palais des congrès de Montréal. "Renowned for its creativity and design, Montréal truly stands out for the high calibre of its multidisciplinary artists. Given that the Palais is an icon of Montréal design, we are proud to give local creators a prominent place, offering them a unique international showcase," says Tremblay.
"We had a lot of fun creating the patterns that will be printed on the fabrics for the uniform accessories! We hope that people will feel this sense of joy when they see them. We're sure that employees, customers and people passing through the Palais will enjoy the vibrant energy of these colours, shapes and patterns. We put a lot of love into this project and it's a great honour for us to enhance the Palais' visibility and reputation by adding a touch of Vandal!," says Liz Vandal.
