A Really BIG Show is coming to Toronto's Waterfront for this year's Redpath Waterfront Festival, presented by Billy Bishop Airport
TORONTO, April 5, 2018 /CNW/ - Inspired by the sheer size and beauty of Lake Ontario, a really big show is on its way to Toronto's waterfront. From sky to water, this year's Redpath Waterfront Festival, presented by Billy Bishop Airport, will reach new heights.
From June 22-24, Toronto's waterfront will come alive with larger-than-life entertainment and activities for visitors young and old. Riding the wave of success after the World's Largest Rubber Duck, this year's festival will continue to offer visitors excitement and spectacle with the following programs.
GRAND CIRCUS
Aqua Cirque is an enchanting and colourful show from A2D2 ~ Aerial Dance Cirque Co. Surfing hula hoop artists, nautical contortionists and H2O themed aerialists will tell a captivating story about water through tricks, dives and acrobatics. After each performance, the stars of Aqua Cirque will lead guided workshops where kids can learn how to put on a circus show of their own.
HUGE HISTORY
The Royal Canadian Navy returns to the festival, this time bringing a renowned tall ship along for the journey. The HMCS Oriole is a sail-training vessel with a great history, and it hasn't been in the Great Lakes for over 25 years. Stop by the Navy booth to chat with an officer about the forces or to find out more about this legendary ship.
BIG EATS
The Waterfront Artisan Market returns to HTO Park for weekends throughout the summer starting in May. Sample delicious local food and stumble upon new home-made products. This year's market will feature 50 bakers, chefs and artisans. waterfrontbia.com/waterfrontartisanmarket
TALL DRINKS
The festival is excited to partner with the Wine & Spirit Festival once again. Celebrating its 10th year, this summer favourite returns to Sugar Beach with live music, entertainment and expertly crafted cocktails. Sample some of the best wines, beers and spirits on the market and find inspiration for your next party from chefs and culinary personalities (Friday/Saturday only). wineandspiritfestival.ca
GIANT FUN
The Family Fun Zone will have loads of interactive activities for kids of all ages and abilities. The whole family can enjoy creative art activities put on by Toronto School of Art and kids can keep busy and engaged with crafts and educational activities from Parks Canada and Live Green Toronto. Billy Bishop Airport's Billy the Flying Fox will also be there for photo ops with kids young and old.
