MONTREAL, Dec. 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - "Come play outdoors" is the invitation issued by the Fête des neiges de Montréal, in collaboration with World Financial Group, to everyone who'd like to enjoy more than 25 outdoor activities this winter and, at the same time, discover the majestic site of Parc Jean-Drapeau. Presented over four consecutive weekends - from January 18 to February 9, 2014 - for the first time in its history, the Fête des neiges de Montréal will be welcoming visitors with a wide array of new features, including an evening program every Saturday.
"Winter enthusiasts are going to be treated to a renewed Fête des neiges de Montréal," said comedian Yan England, who is serving as the event spokesperson for a fifth straight year. "It's longer, extended over four weekends, more festive with an evening program on Saturdays, and more attractive with many new features, so Parc Jean-Drapeau will certainly be a popular destination this winter."
The main activities that visitors will find on the site include a refrigerated skater's path, a ferris wheel with a great view of the downtown area, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, a tube slide that's faster and higher than it's been in the past, dog-sled and horse-drawn sleigh rides, teletraction snowboarding, as well as an area for tiny tots and an inflatable structures zone. More than 25 activities await visitors to the event, which will also have some surprises that will be announced at a later date.
The Fête des neiges de Montréal is the must-attend winter event, with your family or among friends. Visitors will also be able to rent cross-country skis, snowshoes, skates, sleds and snow scooters on the site.
The Fête des neiges de Montréal is produced by the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau in collaboration with World Financial Group and the following partners: La Presse, CKOI 96.9, Rythme FM, The Beat, Métromédia, Disney Junior and Coup de pouce.
