TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - The stork is not often included in the list of animals at The Royal, but Thursday marked a special occasion. The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is proud to announce the arrival of a female baby lamb born Thursday, November 8th at 8:30 a.m. The wee ewe weighs in at 8 lbs. Both mom and baby are doing well.
"Royal Lady" was born to Red Ribbon Livestock and Robson Acres of Millbrook, ON, just south of Peterborough. The owners were expecting the arrival, but not for another three weeks. The mother sheep was in competition Thursday and her baby joined her in the ring so neither would be apart for too long.
Media is invited to meet the newest addition of the Royal family. The lamb will be on-site with her mother and owners until Sunday, November 11th. Fairgoers are encouraged to offer suggestions for the baby lamb's official Royal Agricultural Winter Fair name by tweeting @RAWF90.
Taking place at Exhibition Place in Toronto, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is the world's largest combined indoor agricultural and equestrian show. This year, The 90th Royal Agricultural Winter Fair runs until Sunday, November 11, 2012.
All media can check in at the Media Office in the Direct Energy Centre, Hall A, Room 101.
