QUÉBEC CITY, May 24, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The entire Aquarium du Québec team is once again all abuzz! A little over two weeks after the birth of Arnaliaq's baby, it's now Samka's turn: she's given birth to a baby boy! The happy event took place during the night of May 23. This is the second birth at Aquarium du Québec. And let's not forget that it's the second in all of Canada as well. What a source of pride!
Samka's baby was born naturally and without human assistance. The newborn is being breast fed, but the Aquarium du Québec team must remain vigilant, the same as for Arnaliaq's little one, who's doing just fine.
These very rare births have created an enormous interest in the general public and also among scientists the world over. Everybody's looking forward to when the two offspring meet! And we're very keen to introduce Arnaliaq's and Samka's babies to the world as soon as we possibly can.
