A statement from the Lieutenant Governor on Toronto's selection as host site
for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games

TORONTO , Nov. 6 /CNW/ - Toronto's victory bid for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games is outstanding news for Ontario!

As The Queen's representative in the province, I extend my heartiest congratulations to the entire Toronto 2015 team on the success of their efforts to bring the Pan American and Parapan American Games to Toronto and surrounding regions in 2015.

The Games will provide a welcome boost to the region's economy. More importantly, they will give Southern Ontario, from St Catharine's to Oshawa to Barrie, the opportunity to show the world our mettle.

I have no doubt that the athletes who come here for the Games will feel at home in Toronto , arguably the most multicultural city on the planet. And I know that the people of Ontario will extend them a warm Canadian welcome.
