A True Taste of the Islands: Celebrity Chef Raquel Fox Launches Bahamian Cookbook
Dining in Paradise now available in bookstores
TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2018 /CNW/ - Bahamian celebrity chef, Raquel Fox, is proud to announce Dining in Paradise. The first Bahamian cookbook to be published in over 30 years, Dining in Paradise is a collection of over 150 authentic island recipes.
The brilliant chef behind the cookbook is Raquel Fox - a Bahamas native who has lived in Canada for the past four years. In 2014, Raquel and her husband moved to Canada as it was recommended (by a trusted psychologist), as the best place for higher learning and quality of life for their son who has a mild case of autism. Raquel is now a culinary instructor at George Brown College.
Back home, Raquel is well known. A celebrity in her own right, Raquel and her husband owned a renowned restaurant called the Wine Lounge for years, and she hosted her own television show titled "Island Hopping". Raquel quickly realized how Bahamian food was underrated around the world and felt determined to do something about it.
"Dining in Paradise really is meant to be a taste of the islands," says Raquel. "A lot of people don't realize that Bahamian food is everywhere - from soups to seafood. I wrote the cookbook to bring the food that I grew up with to the rest of the world and really show people how amazing it is. This cookbook encourages eating together and bringing back a culture that we have in common, 'Sunday Dinners'."
Dining in Paradise will be available for purchase in Chapters, Indigo across Canada. For more information on Raquel Fox and Dining in Paradise, please visit fitzhenry.ca.
