WINNIPEG, May 2, 2012 /CNW/ - This year, AAA Alarms, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc., is celebrating 50 years of protecting people's homes, families, and businesses as one of Western Canada's premier providers of full-service residential and business security.
"When MTS purchased AAA Alarms in 1998, it immediately became an important member of the MTS family," said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. "The security services AAA provides are valued by our customers and are an attractive component of the MTS bundle. The fact that AAA Alarms has been doing business for half a century speaks to the commitment it has to its customers, and in turn, the trust those customers have placed in AAA. All of us at MTS are proud to join them in celebrating their 50th anniversary."
Initially established in Winnipeg as a locksmith business, the company changed its focus in 1962 and has grown to become one of Manitoba's leading security providers. Today the company employs approximately 120 people, and offers home and business monitoring for burglary, fire, carbon monoxide, low temperatures, rising water, and other threats to property and livelihood.
In Manitoba, AAA Alarms is one of the province's largest security services providers. Randy Williams, AAA's Vice-President and General Manager believes its customer-focused employees are the primary reason the company has established such a strong presence in the Manitoba security industry.
"Our team's dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction and delivering peace of mind for home owners and businesses alike has contributed to our ongoing success over the past 50 years," said Mr. Williams. "We are grateful for their hard work and commitment. And of course, our business would not be where it is without our customers. We deeply appreciate that, year after year, AAA Alarms continues to be who our customers turn to for their security needs."
AAA Alarms' insistence on providing a superior customer experience was recognized in 2010 by the Honeywell Security Group, a worldwide security equipment leader, when they chose AAA Alarms to be their Partner of Choice in a national advertising campaign. AAA was only the second Canadian company to receive this distinction.
"The first 50 years of AAA Alarms have been a tremendous success for the company. I'm confident that this 'golden anniversary' will be followed by many more," added Mr. Shepherd.
