Acadian Mining announces the appointment of a new President and Chief

HALIFAX, June 24 /CNW/ - Acadian Mining Corporation (TSX: ADA) ("Acadian" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Grant Ewing to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer. He will assume his new duties with Acadian Mining effective immediately.
Mr. Ewing is a seasoned mining executive with extensive experience in all aspects of mineral exploration and development. His mining career spans over 20 years and encompasses work as an exploration geologist early in his career, followed by senior level executive positions with several different mining companies. Mr. Ewing also has widespread knowledge of financial markets, property evaluation and project financing.
Prior to joining Acadian Mining, Mr. Ewing was employed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Staccato Gold Resources Ltd. where he was responsible for the overall management of the company's affairs. Before this he served as President and Chief Operating Officer for a junior mining company, and prior to that, he was Executive Vice President for an exploration company, where he supervised the corporate development, investor relations, and exploration divisions. Mr. Ewing also worked as an institutional equity analyst covering the mining sector in the mid 1990's.
Peter Lee who has been acting President and Chief Executive Officer since February 2010 will remain as a Director.
