5G & LTE America and Fierce Innovation Awards recognize pioneering virtualized network performance assurance solutions
MONTREAL, Nov. 23, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Accedian, the end-to-end network performance experts, has won two leading industry awards for its SkyLIGHT™ platform, the communication industry's first virtualized network performance assurance solution.
Accedian's SkyLIGHT platform was chosen by the judges of the 2016 Fierce Innovation Awards as the winning entry for the "Network Test and Measurement" category. The judges commented on the entry, "Accedian's focus on monitoring and assurance of effective QoS in increasingly complex network world is unique. Enabling carriers to make smart, proactive, real-time decisions on network utilization provides a clear ROI for its customers. The innovation and proven deployments put Accedian in a strong position as carriers continue making NFV architecture decisions." Judges included representatives from Verizon, Sprint, Telia Sonera, T-Mobile USA, and Comcast.
In addition, Accedian won the "Best Test & Measurement Award" in the annual 5G & LTE America Awards at the 5G North America conference earlier this month in Dallas, Texas. The 5G and LTE North America category award recognizes growth and innovation in the test and measurement (T&M) space. Accedian was recognized for its excellence in virtualized instrumentation solutions, through its SkyLIGHT performance monitoring platform.
SkyLIGHT provides network operators with full lifecycle performance assurance, as well as quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) monitoring for today's 4G and tomorrow's 5G networks. SkyLIGHT is the industry's first virtualized performance assurance solution, composed of a service assurance orchestrator (SkyLIGHT Director), an NFV-based controller (SkyLIGHT VCX Controller) and a range of test agents, reflectors, and pluggable performance modules, all designed for advanced real-time monitoring across large scale 4G and 5G networks.
- SkyLIGHT Director – A scalable, web-service, open API-based domain orchestrator and management platform that automates service activation testing (SAT) and service level agreement (SLA)/performance monitoring (PM) test and network configuration.
- SkyLIGHT VCX – A fully virtualized controller providing NFV-based functional support for virtual network functions (VNFs), embodied in miniature, network edge hardware modules. The VCX coordinates PM sessions, manages SAT testing, and ensures CE 2.0 policies are applied correctly based on SLAs.
"We are delighted to receive two such prestigious awards, which are a testament to the contribution of Accedian's technology in helping telecom operators worldwide improve and innovate their networks and service quality today—and prepare for the rollout of future technologies like 5G tomorrow," said Patrick Ostiguy, President & CEO at Accedian. "We pride ourselves on delivering industry-leading solutions that provide carriers and network operators with the intelligent capabilities needed for them to grow their business through new and advanced services, and also to deliver a superior quality of experience to subscribers."
