SHERBROOKE, QC, Sept. 15, 2017 /CNW/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions(CED)
By investing in organizations that help business start-ups, the Government of Canada is directing resources to initiatives that have the greatest positive impact on the lives of Canadians.
Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, announced that Accélérateur de création d'entreprises technologiques (ACET) has been granted $293,500 in financial assistance, in the form of a non-repayable contribution, so it can continue to provide customized coaching for innovative businesses in the Estrie region and the Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska RCMs. The project will help maintain or create 99 jobs in the region and consolidate four jobs directly related to ACET's day-to-day operations.
Established in 2011, ACET is a non-profit organization whose mission is to encourage, facilitate and accelerate the creation and start-up of innovative enterprises by transforming projects with high development potential into businesses and helping university graduates with the right qualifications become entrepreneurs. The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will help ACET pay the coaches for the SMEs and cover part of the operating costs.
