Access to the Grand Prix F1 - Major construction on the Bonaventure Expressway in the Pierre-Dupuy sector Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, June 3, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Given major construction on the Bonaventure Expressway (Avenue Pierre-Dupuy sector), the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) encourages spectators at the Montreal Grand Prix to take the metro to Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
As part of its infrastructure maintenance program, JCCBI is currently replacing the deck of the elevated lanes of the Bonaventure Expressway (final phase of the program launched in 2008). Since April 2015, Exit 2 toward Avenue Pierre-Dupuy and the access ramp from Chemin des Moulins Est have been closed for this work. They will remain closed until December.
While numerous measures will be taken during the Grand Prix to ensure smooth access to Parc Jean-Drapeau via Avenue Pierre-Dupuy, we recommend that spectators choose the metro. A yard office will ensure that Pierre-Dupuy sector residents and Casino de Montréal customers enjoy continued access.
Please note that street parking will not be tolerated on Marc-Cantin Street from Friday to Sunday to ensure a smooth traffic flow for the detour route. JCCBI has set up a temporary parking lot where spectators can park free of charge and pick up a taxi to the Grand Prix site. A sector access map indicating detours is available on our blog at www.pontChamplain.ca
Event access has been planned and coordinated in conjunction with our partners at Ville de Montréal, Société du parc Jean-Drapeau, the Canadian Grand Prix, Casino de Montréal, SPVM, and Sûreté du Québec, with the support of our traffic experts.
